My name is Noel Munoz and I cannot believe I am blogging. I am 38 year old Marine veteran. I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico but grew up in Las Vegas. I came to this city when I was only one year old, so I don't have any memories of Mexico apart from the ones from visiting a handful of times as a kid. I enlisted at age 17 and served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. After my service, I earned my Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences at Pima Medical Institute in 2018. I currently work in interventional radiology at the veteran's hospital in North Las Vegas. Now I'm enrolled at CSN to earn my Associate of Applied Science degree in Real Estate.
I'm not gonna lie about my first impression about IS101 at CSN. I thought it was going to be a pretty simple class about software and computers but boy was I wrong. I don't think I have been this engaged in a class setting right off the bat like I have been. I don't say this in a negative way because I love a challenge. There is a lot more to Microsoft programs than I thought I knew. I look forward to what lies ahead and to the challenges still to come.
The skill I selected is 1.3.6 Gmail and Google calendar. Before I started at my current job, I had never used my Google calendar or Gmail. As a matter of fact, my wife has used Google calendar consistently for appointments and tried to show me but I really didn't get a grasp of it until I started to take call at my job and we needed to keep track of those days so as not to book things on the weeks where I had the possibility of working late or being called in after hours. As soon as I make an appointment or pick up call, I enter it into Google and I'm set. Can't believe I never simplified my life before.
