Phase 2 was a bigger challenge but I was able to push through and get ahead in the small moments I had in life. The number of formulas that you have to be familiar with and knowing which function to input is so important in Excel. At times I was so overwhelmed with the worksheets because I would get stuck and questioned if I was actually retaining what I was being presented with. I just took and passed the MO-210 exam, so I think all the overthinking was unnecessary. ๐
5.5.2 Cell Formats was the one I found I would be using most. Formatting cells helps bring more structure to your sheet and not just be a bunch of numbers and words in cells. Just like a Word document, I learned to be able to center, align, widen columns or just auto fit to make it simpler. I haven't gotten to use this in real life yet, but I hope to soon.
Since I use Excel almost every day at work, I may try to create or upgrade some of the workbooks we use if given the opportunity. I would love to see how I can apply what I have to simplify or improve things at work.
Seeing as how my study and work habits have been successful thus far, I don't see myself changing my approaches. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
Hey Noel, it would be nice to be able to apply what you learned in IS101 at work.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on passing the MO-210 Exam.
Hi Noel! Phase 2 was definitely more challenging than the last one. During this phase, I realized I needed to slow down and really read the instructions carefully, even if it meant going over them multiple times. I’m glad we both passed the MO-210 exam as it felt like a big weight was lifted off my shoulders. We’re almost at the finish line, and I’m sure it’ll be smooth sailing for you from this point on. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteOverthinking is part of the learning process and not necessarily a bad thing ^_^
ReplyDeleteGood job on passing MO-210, Noel :-)
I agree with "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" !
Hi Noel, pushing through Phase 2 and passing the MO-210 exam, huge accomplishment! It’s clear you’ve built real skills, especially with cell formatting and Excel functions. Applying what you've learned at work could be a great way to solidify your knowledge even more. Keep that momentum going!
ReplyDeleteHey Noel,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your Phase 2 reflection! It's impressive how you managed to push through the challenges and even get ahead during the small moments in life. Excel can indeed be overwhelming with its numerous formulas, but your perseverance paid off, especially with passing the MO-210 exam, congratulations!
Your focus on 5.5.2 Cell Formats is spot on. Proper formatting truly transforms a spreadsheet from a jumble of data into a clear and professional document. It's great to hear that you're considering applying these skills to improve your workbooks at your job. Implementing what we've learned in real-life scenarios is the best way to solidify our knowledge.
Your approach of sticking with what works, as you mentioned, "if it isn't broke, don't fix it," is a testament to your effective study and work habits. Keep up the great work! ^-^
Hi Noel! Yeah, same boat too, the overthinking on the formulas almost crushed my confidence on Excel, but I am glad to see we both came out the other side! Reinforcing knowledge back to your work tasks sounds like an amazing way to see your skills! Amen to that last line, but I am sure that your consistency isn't broken either LOL.
ReplyDeleteHey Noel, Excel was definitely challenging for me, even though I had some experience with it. I was really worried about the exam, thinking there was a good chance I might not pass, especially since I struggled with the "If..." function. Luckily, I passed, but those "If" functions are still my enemy!
ReplyDeleteHi Noel! There definitely is a lot of formulas that you have to be familiar with and know when the best time to use each one of them. I feel like that is usually the hardest thing for me when it comes to Excel. Cell formatting is super helpful with even the simplest workbooks and mays things way easier to read and understand. Congrats on passing MO-210 :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on passing Phases 2 and 3!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to use any Excel skills in my day-to-day, but I know with confidence that the way you talk about your job and your workbooks, I can confidently enter a job and not feel nervous when having to apply my recently learned skills.
I totally relate to the feeling of being overwhelmed at times, especially with so many formulas to keep track of, but clearly all your hard work paid off. It’s awesome that you’re already thinking about applying what you’ve learned at work I’m sure your skills will make a real difference
ReplyDeleteHi Noel! Like you I found Excel to be the hardest. The formulas were so though, especially the lengthy ones. It was hard to remember each step and which formula to use. I am also glad I passed lol I found this phase the hardest but the most rewarding. You did so well, keep pushing! There is light at the end of the tunnel! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to overthink sometimes because we don’t know any better especially because Phase 2 was the hardest one, but after passing that MO-210 exam it gets paid off. Cell formats makes the page look cleaner, and now we know shortcuts in using them. I think you should just do it and upgrade the workbooks to keep using your new skill and make yourself look good.
ReplyDeleteHi Noel, I like to see you keeping your "if it's not broken, don't fix it" mentality because it's true! You should be proud of yourself for passing everything with good results.
ReplyDeleteHi Noel, great job keeping the same mentality! You are definitely crushing this class!
