Overall my experience in IS101 was great. It was a lot more work than I hand anticipated at first, but it was all worth it. Instructor Wu made the class challenging but was extremely helpful along the way. Classmates were easy to get along with and helpful when ever it was needed.
This course gave me skills that I never knew were going to be as helpful as they are in my everyday life. I have kids who are school age and I am confident I can help them if they come to me with Microsoft questions. I am also excited to be able to apply what I have learned at work, since I use Microsoft programs on a daily basis.
6.8.1 - Media Formatting. I chose this topic because it was one of the least known things I could do in PowerPoint. Being able to designate a video to start upon click or automatically when the slide transitions was helpful to me. I've made PowerPoints before and always put them in from the internet but now i have tools to be able to make better presentations in the future.
Hey Noel, I had the most fun learning PowerPoint because it is simple but really helpful. It is amazing how much you can do with audio like controlling when the audio starts, fading it in, and looping it. This class was not difficult but it did have a lot of assignments. Like you said, it was definitely worth it at the end!!
ReplyDeleteHey Noel, I learned a lot about the history of the Dallas Cowboys from your presentation, and it piqued my interest in American Football and following the games. I'll probably have to watch a few games to understand it. Maybe I'll watch a game or two of the Cowboys as well.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you, this class helped me develop Microsoft skills I never expected to learn. At times, all the assignments and LabSim work felt a little overwhelming, but it definitely paid off in the end. Like you, I have kids in school, and now I feel confident that I can help them if they ever need assistance with Microsoft assignments. Best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteHey Noel! This course did turn out to be more challenging than I expected, but like you mentioned, it was definitely rewarding in the end. Being able to apply the skills we’ve learned to our daily lives is going to make things a lot easier moving forward. Wishing you all the best in your future, and I hope the Cowboys make it to the Super Bowl soon for you!
ReplyDeleteThis class was not easy A by any means, but earning an A by getting the work done felt rewarding because that meant we were able to handle the workload and keep up.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a plus, to be able to apply what you learn in this course to your work as well as being able to teach your kids some Microsoft programs when it comes to that time because it will happen due to the rate technology is moving and teaching the younger generation earlier than later will help them stand out when applying to jobs or furthering their education. I know I will teach all 3 of my kids how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint when the time comes.
Hi Noel! I totally agree, I mean I did anticipate this class to be hard, but not as hard as it actually felt. But at least we all got through it together! I also really appreciated your slideshow. I used to say I was only a cowboys fan because of my last name, but now I actually get to know some history of the football team, so thank you! I know your kids are going to appreciate your skills when the time comes!
ReplyDeleteHi Noel! I am glad that so many of us have had such great experiences with this semester, Professor Wu, and classmates. I agree with you that IS101 was more work that I had anticipated, but was very well worth it. I use Microsoft daily as well and can't wait to use all the new skills I have acquired. Good luck in your future semesters!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your experience! I completely agree the class was more work than we expected, but it definitely paid off. It was great sitting next to you in class me, you, and Chandler had some good laughs it made time pass by easier and it is awesome that you feel confident helping your kids now and using these skills at work.
ReplyDeleteHi Noel! I think this class was a smooth sailing for you and I'm so happy it truly was like that! Wishing you the best luck in your future studies!
ReplyDeleteHi Noel, awesome you feel confident using Microsoft. I never used Microsoft before and this class helped me a lot to understand the fundamentals. Wish you the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteHey Noel,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your final blog post! It's impressive how you've applied the skills from IS101 to both your work and helping your kids. Your insight into 6.8.1 Media Formatting is spot on; being able to control video playback in PowerPoint can truly enhance presentations.
It's great to hear that, despite the initial workload, you found the course worthwhile and appreciated the support from Professor Wu and our classmates.
Wishing you continued success! ^-^
